This is long, but you will know everything that you need to know:PURPOSE OF PURCHASE:My daughter had just turned 11 months old. I was looking for a fill-and-spill toy that she would not outgrow as quickly as many other baby toys and I was hoping for something that she would use for creative play for the next couple of years. We were skeptical at first because we felt that, although the price is reasonable, we still did not want to throw away $20 and she might not care for it or it may be a little mature for her.I am so glad that we bought it. It was the last of the gifts that we bought for her first Christmas, and I just know it was meant for her to have.DESCRIPTION:Everything is made of hard plastic, except for the checked "blanket" which is like a handkerchief. The basket is packed pretty full with everything inside, but she can easily fit it all back in without help. She loves carrying all of the pieces around in her little hands. (There are many pieces and you don't want them lost!) The full basket is a little heavy for a baby. She did not carry the entire basket around until recently (14 months) and still prefers not to, but she has always taken it off of her toyshelf and sat with it closeby in the floor. I can watch this thing growing with her. She likes to put the food pieces and forks in her mouth. And she LOVES the sounds it makes when the lid opens and closes. She loves the songs that it sings, and let me tell you, the voice is too cute and sweet. She dances while she plays and tries to sing.POSITIVE:I love it because it is easy to wipe clean (even though I haven't had to clean it yet), it is durable, it is fun, adorable, AND VERY educational!!Read more ›

this is a great toy! very durable, bold colors. everything fits into the basket so it's easy to store and not lose pieces. My 18 month old daughter loves playing pretend and this is a great toy for her. Plus, all the food is a shape that fits in it's on spot on the plates, like a puzzle. It helps her with shapes, colors and I can get her to clean up when she's done. And she loves carrying this around the house.

My 19 month old loves this set-- foods, plates, cups and music. I am reluctant to let her play with it because she can fit the entire circle shapes (cookie and orange) completely into her mouth.

I have never written a review before, but had to for this toy. My 2 1/2 year old daughter and 11 month old son play with this toy constantly and fight over it so much so I am thinking about buying another one. We have more toys than anyone I know. I know the good, bad and easily broken ones on the market. This toy has everything you'd want for your kids.1. Sounds effects2. Container to store pieces in3. Shape-sorter4. Different healthy food items for your toddler to learn to distinguish5. Promotes sharing (though my kids are still working on this aspect :)6. Container has a handle for toddler to tote around (which all toddlers love to do)I highly recommend this!

We bought this for our youngest daughter, and expected that our two older children would lose intrest with it after a few days...wrong! I enjoy watching all three of them play picnic together. It is a great way to practice sharing and manners, and they don't even realize it!! The music is adorable and there are several pieces to play with!I recommend this!

I bought this for my 2yr old along with the Potsy and she LOVES it! She'll place the blanket first on the floor and the two plates with food on top. She loves to pretend we're having a picnic and carries the basket everywhere. I love Leapfrog products!

Gave this as a gift to my friend's one year old twins and they love it. It works really well for twins because there are 2 of basically everything in the basket so sharing is easy and I see them playing with it almost every time I visit. I was concerned when I read reviews about the potential choking hazard but I have seen the girls put the pieces in there mouths and they are far too large to be swallowed. They have a great time playing with all of the pieces and the best part is it has an off switch which I know the parents enjoy.

I hated this toy when my daughter got it as a gift. All that plastic and the horrible, noise-making buttons and the worst song about colors you ever did hear. BUT, my daughter LOVES it! It has been, hands down, her favorite toy since she received it when she was around 8 months old. I can now be heard singing some of the songs I detest. They may be growing on me.My mom got it for my twin nieces after seeing how much my daughter played with it. It is perfect for twins as there are 2 plates, 2 forks, 2 glasses and so nice for sharing. They liked it immediately! My only complaint would be that the glasses have holes in the bottom. My nieces are 3+ and like it so I think the age could be extended for over 3 yrs. it is a great gift!
