I attached this to my 2006 Nissan Xterra's existing cross bars. I had no difficulty assembling and mounting it on my own. I did run into one hitch when I found a nut was missing from one of the locking knobs. A trip to the local hardware store for a 1/4" nut solved the problem. Nice basket, fits well on the Xterra.

The basket was easy to assemble and relatively easy to mount since I was doing it by myself. The basket was great for our trip, very sturdy and held enough luggage to make things much easier. My only real complaint is that the mounting is not as flexible as I'd like and though it says it will fit my vehicle with the factory bars it is right on the edge and really can't be mounted with bars centered in the clamps the way the instructions say it should be, that's why I only gave it 4 stars for the way it mounts on my Honda Element with factory cross bars. The product shipped right on time and was delivered as predicted.

I borrowed a friends Sportrack basket and really liked it. When I went to buy one of my own I did some research and liked the ability of the Yakima to attach other Yakima accessories (snow racks, bike racks, etc). I have a few Yakima racks so I went with the Yakima, hoping I'd like it as much as the Sportrack. I really like the Sportrack, but I love the Yakima.A few differences between the two:- The Yakima allows you to attach other bike/snow/boat/etc racks. Any rack that supports round crossbars will work.- The Yakima has a better/easier crossbar attachment mechanism. Its not hard to get either basket on/off, but the Yakima is more sturdy and easier to use.- The Yakima fairing flips down for carrying long stuff like lumber. This was a surprise and one I really like since I buy lumber fairly often.- The sportrack is quieter out of the box. The Yakima fairing rattles a little, but can be fixed with some tape or rubber bumpers. In the end the Yakima with extension was about $15 more than the similar Sportrack, but I think it's worth it if you want the features above.

I purchased rack to go on my Mini Cooper with Mini brand cross bars. It was very easy to assemble and seems to be very sturdy

I've just purchased my second LoadWarrior roof basket. The previous one went a long way towards addressing the hideous load bars on the current generation Outback, providing a platform for all kinds of hauling goodness, such as my 16 foot canoe. The new one is sitting on my Volvo C30.I like that the LoadWarrior provides load bars at either end, giving a long, wide platform for loads. Lumber runs, Ikea runs, no problem. Add on canoe clips or other accessories and you have a truly useful system.Quality: my rack arrived with a number of quality issues, such as a missing bolt hole in the fairing, a gouge in the finish, and mysterious white powder covering one half of the rack. None of these amounted to returning the rack, and who knows if a replacement would be any better, but it does indicate that quality control in the Taiwan factory that makes these for Yakima is not as good as it could be.

This rack was installed on a 2011 OutbackThe rack offers so many options for carrying materials, equipment, bikes and other outdoors needs. The assembly goes together quickly, I installed the extension with it and that took little extra time. I have used it for bikes and hauling building materials will be using it to travel and carry extra cargo.Proslarge capacity, multitude of uses, ease of set up.ConsFairing is loud on the outback due to the way the wind hits it. Over 30 mph will vibrate and it can be obnoxious. I have installed weather stripping behind the fairing to cut down on noise but still there. The fairing just has too much flex if you have a similar car model i would recommend making your own out of a more rigid material.

We have a 2012 Subaru Outback with factory installed roof racks. They run down the side of the roof top, but you can swing the arms out across the top of the car. We are planning a camping trip in August and wanted to open up some space inside the car since we are traveling with our dog. This rack is very sturdy and it didn't take long for my husband to put it together, and it took even less time to get it up on the car. We took a test drive with the rack on top of the car and never even noticed it was up there. Only time I heard a bit of noise was when I opened the sun roof. But, that said, we can open the sun roof! that was something we questioned. So, it's no problem! It also posses no problem when opening up the back lift door. All-in-all, we are very happy with our purchase.**Modify - we have since been on our camping trip and we were amazed at the amount of gear we could get in this rack. We purchased a bag for our sleeping bags, and it was large enough to put even more gear in. So, on top of our car in this rack we had two sleeping bags, misc. cooking items, camp stove, tent, screened in tent [to put over picnic table], sleeping pad (queen size)/pump and a few other assorted items to fill it up. We were quite impressed with the amount of gear it held. We did hear a slight vibration noise from time to time, but the front park of the rack is adjustable. It didn't happen all the time, so we weren't sure exactly where it was coming from. But all-in-all we were very happy with the purchase. It opened up A LOT of space in the back of our car.We also purchased the webbing that goes with this rack and it was all we needed. No additional tie downs were required at all.
