Not what they used to be! Beware!Jeanette Ryan Murphy
Back in 2009 I bought a set of these baskets and they were beautiful. I bought another set a few years later and they weren't as nice but still okay. The set I just bought are AWFUL. They are inferior in every way. The materials are cheap: the reeds are thinner and fuzzy, and not as long so the weave patter itself is different. There is some warping in the shape of the baskets. The ends of the reeds just poke into the interior of the baskets. There is already breakage of reeds in the sides, so there are small holes. The color is uneven, and the beautiful shine of the first set I bought has become a mangy matte. In short, these are NOT the same baskets in the picture and should not be offered as the same product, certainly not at this price.

These baskets are very sturdy and hold everything that I needed them for, but they are not espresso colored. They are pretty close to what the picture shows and in my mind that is not dark/deep enough to be considered espresso. Other than that these are a good perchase. Although if I was to change anything about them is to line the bottom with felt so that when they slide in and out of the shelves they are in they don't scrape along so bad. They are pretty rough, and will dammage a fine finished shelf.

Rec'd quickly, packaged well.HOWEVER, quality was NOT what was listed, shown or expected. Should have been much better. Wire frames seem sturdy tho. Color is a strange reddish-orangish-brownish shade, not the warm "espresso" brown in the pictures. Weird but ok for our uses. Good thing we weren't trying to match anything.In the pictures they also look nicely and neatly finished/varnished/lacquered or something BUT they either are NOT finished at all or the finish is so light/cheap(!!) you can't tell. They look cheap, forlorn and dull.Because of that lack of a good finish, if you will have ppl pulling them out and moving them around a lot, I would recommend going with a better product, or finishing them again yourself.I ordered two sets for shelves in our hallway. They are definitely NOT worth $54 a set. I may order lower-priced ones and return these over-priced ones, it's that much of a difference. We'll see. I'm definitely going to get some kind of protective finish on them if we decide to keep them.Bottom line: definitely would NOT recommend to a friend.

I was a little reluctant to try these baskets online, but I had a really hard time finding quality wicker for storage in local retailers.The set arrived yesterday. I was really impressed. These are great quality, tightly-woven, packaged well and fit perfectly in my bookshelf. The metal lining definitely makes these sturdy for everyday use and for heavier items that would normally tear right through less-sturdy wicker. I'm using them for clothes and plan to buy more sets to organize the chaos of my shelves.There were no color issues, and no shipping problems for myself. These also are deep enough to hold a lot. Many wicker baskets are long and thin and cannot hold taller items.One reviewer wanted to label the baskets, but was concerned they would not stick. If you do, here are a few suggestions: Use a needle and thread to tie the paper or cloth labels to the baskets. The weave is tight, but a small needle with fit through there and keep the weave snug.These are a definite buy if you need something sturdy or want to class up your bookshelf mess.

These baskets are so small, the photos are deceiving, and because of how small these actually are they are completely over priced - I would have returned them but the hassle just was not worth it, so I chalked it up as a learning experience.
THE BASKETS ARE RED/ORANGE!!!!Legally Adorable
I Purchased the shelving unit and these 3 baskets. The wood on the shelving unit is espresso, but, the baskets are a bright red/orange!!!! The combination looks hideous!!! There is no sheen to these baskets, they are a dull and flat color, which tends to make them look extremely cheap!!!! What a disappointment!DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THESE BASKETS!!
