Fits Just Like the Old OneM. Spalmacin
When I went looking for a replacement skimmer basket, the thing that annoyed me was that very few of the products gave their dimensions. I know, most are a standard size and I obviously knew the dimensions of the old basket but I didn't want to waste the time or money on a new one that didn't fit. So herewith I give the dimensions of this basket (Hayward SPX1070E), which is an exact replacement size-wise for the one I was replacing:* Width across the top (including rim): 8-1/4"* Height: 5-1/8"* Width across the bottom: 5-3/4"There. Exactly as needed, others should be aware that Hayward has two basket sizes , this the the one that is 8.25 inch at the top.

My old skimmer baskets were about 10 years old and completely falling apart. The old ones had a weight at the bottom to hold them down. The size was an exact match to my old ones. These are 8 1/4" at the top 5 1/8" tall and the bottom width is 5 3/4".The basket is good quality compared to my last set at least. While this basket it heavier than most original ones, and does sink it does have a tendency to float a bit when pumps are turned off. I'm not sure if because the pool is a salt water pool if it affects how this works but I definitely need something to weigh this down in my pool.Other than the fact that it doesn't quite sink all the time without a weight this basket is perfect and would get it again. Just have to reattach the weights that came with my old baskets back on.

I bought this basket not for a pool, but to place in a cut-out in the top of a 55 gal. rain barrel to stop debris from going into the barrel. The basket did the trick and was much less expensive than the filters and/or screens that were made specifically for rain barrels at 1/3 the price. Very happy with the product and it works great for what I wanted.

It is too light and it floats inside the skimmer when it should be resting on the skimmers base at all times

Fits perfectly, appears to be the same quality as the original Hayward basket. In fact, it's slightly heavier so I don't have to weigh down the basket with chlorine or rocks, which is nice.

Product does what it's supposed to do however the handle should be higher(round "swing" type as when it is full ,the leaves etc. cover the handle, making it a bit more difficult to grab w/o some of the contents escaping to the filter basket.

At last a handle so I don't have to reach into a bunch of leaves and gook. Handle slides into the two holes on either side of basket held in place by friction.Handle slides out easily when you are using skimmer socks.I have an old pool and the basket fit perfect
