Got two of these, loaded them up.... all seemed well, came down in the morning to find a chain hanging from the hook and baskets and oranges all over the floor. Replaced chain with a chain with a higher weight rating and it all works fine now, but I shouldn't have had to do that. These might be fine with wax fruit or bread or other lightweight things but filling (not overfilling) the bottom basket with oranges, the middle with onions and the top with peaches was too much for it.

I must admit that I was a bit hesitant, based upon other reviews, to purchase this item. This and other hanging baskets were reviewed as having weak hanging chains. However, others said it was fine, so I went ahead and ordered the basket. Much to my delight, it is fairly close to perfect, and holds a small bag of onions, several tomatoes and fruit all without breaking. I can see where if I loaded it down with all three tiers overflowing, it might break, but I never planned to do that anyway. There are two things anyone contemplating a purchase should know. One is that you will need to decided how to hang it, and if you want to hang it from the ceiling, you will need to buy a piece of chain or be something like 7' tall. The other thing is that the three chains that hang the baskets from the hook are twisted, at least they are on mine. Not a deal breaker, but not as attractive as it could be, and the reason it doesn't get 5 stars. Nice product, decent price and worth purchasing.

I ordered this basket after reading a few reviews that mentioned the chains were not strong enough and broke shortly after adding weight. I figured it wouldn't be too hard to purchase some stronger chains or just reinforce what was there. I have had my wire hanging basket for about a week and the bottom is filled with potatoes and the middle is filled with onions. No chains have broken and all is well. What I was most impressed with was the email I got from Pretty Star telling me the common issues with the chains and informing me that I could contact them if I had any problems. I recommend the basket and the Pretty Star Store.

Currently i have 5 mid sized potatoes, 9 onions and 4 apples on this and its holding up it like nothing. Granted i drilled this into a stud in my roof, this is just awesome!

I first saw a product like this in my grandmother's kitchen, and it was thatt memory that prompted me to purchase this product. I am VERY pleased with the workmanship of this product-it is made way better than I remember similar products being made. I would most definitely recommend this product over similar products from other sellers You will not be disappointed!

The baskets on this are very solid, but I can see what the other reviews are saying about the chain. The problem is that they are using a rather weak chain with open, rather than soldered links. To the distributors credit, they emailed me right after I ordered asking me to contact them if I have any problems. So far I've used it without issue, but I can see multiple points where it could fail. Ill be looking for some replacement chain next time I go to the hardware store. This would get 5 stars if it weren't for this issue.

Put my fruit in here and multiple links broke on the chains broke. This happened twice as I was trying to put fruit within the baskets. Will be looking for a new one.

Hung it up and placed a couple apples in it and the chain immediately broke in numerous places. We went out and bought a stronger chain ourselves and it works just fine now. Buy only if you intend to replace the chain yourselves.
