The basket is slightly over 10" "long," not 8.6". While this is indicated in the title, the 8.6" number is repeated multiple times. I'm keeping the baskets because I can find a use for them, but they do not fit where I intended to use them. The baskets are actually 10" tall, 8.5" wide, and 13.9" long.

I bought two similar baskets to use for freezer storage on the shelves in my side-by-side. Someone else had reviewed and posted a pic of the baskets they had used in their upright freezer. The basket is sturdy enough to withstand the freezing temperature and the handle is handy for pulling the basket all or part of the way off the shelf to get at the contents. My freezer before could not hold much because it would all fall off the shelves. Nor could I find things for the same reason. These baskets have helped me to organize my freezer. I was able to go shopping and buy a lot of meat and fish and fill the freezer more than it has ever been.

I purchased two of these for my freezer. They help wrangle the bags of frozen veggies and such. It is much nicer with an organized freezer. I can pull out the bin with what I need and not have an avalanche.

I just received these (I bought 4) and I'm very happy with them. I bought them to put in my pantry to hold the mostly used chip bags and cereal bags b/c we buy in bulk most of the time. I like how they are tall and narrow and they fit very well on my shelves. I've also found that they work great as magazine and mail holders.

These bins are really big! So measure carefully. And they do not stack. I am using them in a chest freezer so I have to leave room for the bin that will be on top to slip into the one below. When I need something from the bottom bin I have to take out the two on top first. Still, it's easier than sorting through a bunch of cold packages to find what I'm looking for. But my husband complains about it. And we have to be very careful that nothing is spilling over the top bin or the freezer door doesn't close all the way. I wanted to use these in the freezer of my side by side fridge as other reviewers did, but the bins are too large to fit my fridge, which is smaller than most sold today. Before purchasing, just make sure you know how big these things actually are. If I had known, I would have only bought a couple instead of 5. Also, when I took them out of the shipping box I had one heck of a time getting them apart. My husband had to use a hammer to get two of them apart.

I love InterDesign products. They are very nicely made, not flimsy. They can be used anywhere in your home. They clean up well, etc. I got this neat style for the inside of my upright freezer. I freeze items flat, then stand up in that container for easy storage. It's great. I saw the idea on Pinterest. Plus this is made for the freezer so the plastic doesn't crack or fog up. I might have to order another one or two of these. Pinterest also showed where people hang labels on these like "veggies" or "soups". Nice and organized :)

This basket fits perfectly in the space that I'm using it in. I'm actually storing athletic socks in it on a shelf in my closet, and it works great. I can easily see the contents of the basket, and the holes allow for good air circulation. It's solidly constructed, not flimsy at all. I'm really happy with it.

I can fit two of these in my bottom drawer freezer making four separate compartments. The straight up and down sides don't waste space and it makes finding things so much easier!
