Measurements not quite accurateKat M
This bin is fine...looks nice, etc. However, the actual measurements are more like 12 1/2 x 12 1/2...with the interior space only 12 x 12...so I was not able to use it for what I intended when I purchased it. Had the measurements been accurate, I wouldn't have bought it in the first place.

I SEARCHED AND SEARCHED TO FIND BINS WITH THE CORRECT DIMENSIONS AND "LOOK", TO PLACE IN TWO TALL NARROW SHELVES TO CUSTOMIZE AS STORAGE SHELVES... THESE WERE VERY AFFORDABLE, HAVE A BEAUTIFUL ORGANIC-LOOK, AND VERY STURDY. I PURCHASED A TOTAL OF FOUR, AND THEY FIT MY SHELVES PERFECTLY. BASKETS FOR THESE POPULAR SHELVES CAN BE VERY EXPENSIVE, AND THESE SERVE THE PURPOSE, PERFECTLY. I WILL USE THEM TO STORE DVD'S AND MAGAZINES, ETC. & THEY WILL REMAIN "STATIONARY". COLOR OF BINS ARE BROWN WITH RED-HUE, FIT NICELY WITH LIGHT OR DARK CHERRYWOOD FURNITURE! LOVE THEM!

I was very disappointed when I received these boxes. From the picture, it leads you to believe that there is a nice variation in color and that it is a solid piece. It's not. The overall color is extremly dark! It's almost a black color that is just really dark. The size is about what they say. Secondly, the product is shipped flat where it collapses down. You pop the sides out and lower the bottom to keep it in a box shape. What this does is cause a gaping between the sides that is substantial. The other thing I don't like is the quality in the banans leaf. It had jagged edges and some of woven edges were sticking out like they were to long and instead of cutting them down; they were just sort of leaking out. It just doesn't have the look or feel of a secure basket that's over $20/each. It looks very cheap and isn't well made.I purchased for of these and I plan on sending them back.

This bin is not a natural brown as shown in the picture on-line or even on the actual packaging. It is a very dark and opaquebrown. Also the finish was already flaking off inside the package revealing the natural color of the material beneath. I would not recommend this in a home with young children as the flaking varnish-like finish could be toxic.

This storage basket is smaller than stated in the Amazon description. I was not able to use it for what I intended when I purchased it. Had the measurements been accurate, I wouldn't have bought it in the first place. Also, I am not impressed with materials. There is some crumbling both the material and dark shellac finish - flakes off easily.

These baskets, which we got as a useable vehicle in place of Easter baskets. But, on Easter, they were opened and reeked of laquer or something and have to be sent back. Very disappointing.

Color is why I bought them and when I received the baskets the color is almost black with no variation of color. These are going back . Expensive to return, but do not like and deceptive photo!

I ordered these bins to fit in some cubbies in a bookshelf I already own. I was hoping they would match some similar ones that I had bought at another popular store, but which had since been discontinued. I was psyched that another reviewer said the actual width of the bins was more like 12.5", not 13", because that was the width of the first non-Amazon bins I bought and I knew they would fit. My cubbies are 13 3/16" and I figured they might be tight, but should fit regardless. Turns out the actual width of the ones I received exceeded even 13 3/16! They were more like 13.5" wide. Also, the color of the stain is MUCH darker than what is pictured. The color is closer to black coffee or coca-cola, and didn't have the variated coloring that the picture shows -- all uniform in color. I didn't notice any flaking as some other reviewers have mentioned, but the varnish does give off a very unpleasant odor. Honestly, I think you could leave these outside for a few hours in the breeze and the problem would go away, but I'm returning these as they don't even fit what I need. To their credit, I love that they can pack flat and they do seem very sturdily made. They are also comparatively priced to other options. I'd keep them if it weren't for the size.
